Greetings one and all and welcome to the latest Throne Report, Mystical Throne Entertainment’s online newsletter posted around the middle of every month. This online newsletter is meant to keep all our fans informed about what we’re working on, what’s been released, important announcements, and a look at what’s coming up.

General Update

Besides a plethora of product revisions (mostly layout) in the past month, a big decision has been made that has reinvigorated my desire to do even more writing. You’ll learn about it below.

No New Updates

There are currently no new updates regarding Licensed Settings, Third Party Products, Ancient World, and Systematic Supplements. Although these product lines have books in the “title brainstorming” category, there are no announcements to be shared at this time. When one of those books enters the planning queue, you’ll find out about it in our Throne Report.

Ultimate Guides

This past month has seen the release of Ultimate Iron Age Guide: Roman Legions for Savage Worlds and EGS in both PDF and print. This book is a revision to the original with additional content along with a new layout that reflects the current Ultimate Guides design. Additionally, Ultimate Iron Age Guide: Three Kingdoms China was released for Savage Worlds and EGS in both PDF and print. This book is not a content revision, but rather a layout revision only. These books now reflect the current Ultimate Guides design.

For new Ultimate Guides development, we have two new titles in the queue’s of two different authors. More on that in the upcoming months. For more revisions, January should see the release of Ultimate Age of Discovery Guide: Pirates and Privateers for both Savage Worlds and EGS in PDF and print. This is a content and layout revision of the original Pirates, Privateers, and Plunder book. We’ll see what comes after that.

Shadowed Earth

Cryptozoology #02: Otherworldly Beings has been sent back after editing and is in the layout queue. This new book will follow the new Shadowed Earth format and will be available in PDF for Savage Worlds and EGS. It will later be incorporated into the first Cryptozoology compendium book in print.

Many revisions have been worked including a couple Veiled titles and the Shadowed Earth core setting guide. This book features the new Shadowed Earth format in a much cleaner layout. This revision is available in PDF and print.

Little Heroes

Magical Bracelet, a quick Scenario playable in about an hour, is pending layout. This is another storyline written by my daughter Harper and like the other, this will be PWYW at RPGNow.

Savage Insider

Savage Insider Issue #7: End of Days will be available on January 1 to mark its 5th anniversary.

Mythos

The Companion book for Mythos is now available for Savage Worlds and EGS in PDF. The Savage Worlds version is available in print as well and the EGS will follow soon. These books incorporate all the content from Battle of Thermopylae, Blood and Wine, and Queen of the Labyrinth into a single companion book. It makes the perfect addition to the core of the Mythos line.

Mercenary Breed

Continuing on with the revision of our catalog, Mercenary Breed is getting a facelift. Part of this is to compensate for the POD changes that occurred a couple years ago at RPGNow, but part of it is to present the book in the current 7×10 format that the other settings exhibit. Why? Because it’s full color and looks great! Additionally, for the first time, a full core setting guide of Mercenary Breed 2.0 will be made available in PDF and hardcover, full color print!

Broken Ruler Games

Broken Ruler Games has decided to get back into the publishing game and is no longer a development studio within Mystical Throne Entertainment. I consider the owner, Todd, a friend of mine and wish him nothing but the best! However, I will continue to help spread the news of his books, but this is the last Throne Report mention.

Powered by the Apocalypse

Now the big announcement… As previously mentioned, we are moving away from all Legend products (I have already started removing them from availability). However, I had some new product lines and settings that just don’t fit right in Savage Worlds and EGS. Savage Worlds is a quick, heroic RPG while EGS is a tactical, heroic RPG. Then I discovered Apocalypse World and its kinfolk. And now I know what to do. Sitting in my brainstorming queue are settings that are meant to toe the line between heroic and storytelling. Beyond the Firelight is collaborative storytelling in a survival environment, so that won’t do. SW and EGS are too heroic with too many mechanics, so they won’t do. Powered by the Apocalypse, however, is PERFECT!

Although I’m not going to divulge the details just yet, keep an eye out for information about our new Powered by the Apocalypse products.
