General Update

You may or may not realize it, but three years ago I kicked off an initiative to do a complete overhaul of the Mystical Throne Entertainment catalog. I wasn’t happy with the direction most of the products were taking and my ability to publish higher quality products has improved substantially. Starting this effort was a complete relaunch of Mercenary Breed. Following that was Judgment Day and then Ancient World. Just recently, the revised edition of Mythos for Savage Worlds was made available. This includes a following of the EGS version with Hero’s Handbook and Epic Gamemastering (as seen on the right).

Overhauling or cleaning-up our settings is not the only tasks on this major undertaking, although Faith & Demons: The Rising is still on that list, it also includes the re-formating of other products to align with a given set of catalog standards. One of those standards, that was rolled out a year ago, is the move to the 7×10 format. Another standard, which I’ve recently decided on, is the creation of color books versus black-and-white ones. Most PDF supplements will be black-and-white. The hope is that core rulebooks, setting guides, and supplements will be full color along with major campaign books (such as Hastilion Expanse). However, this will be a case-by-case basis depending on the artwork.

A third standard is the hardcover and paperback print options. If a book is available in full-color, it will have a full-color, hardcover print option along with a black-and-white, paperback option for those who want to save some money. Core books available only in black-and-white may or may not have a hardcover option, depending on the style of the book. Of course, there may be a hardcover option simply for those who like to “collect” hardcover books.

What you can expect going forward is that a lot of current releases will be revised to match these new standards. The cost will not go up and everyone who already has the book will be given the revision for free. I will not be creating new listings; just refreshing the existing ones. I only plan on posting the major ones in the right column of the Throne Report, but many of them will be updated with each passing week. If you own one of these books and you notice the front cover changes, that’s an indication that the revision is available for you to enjoy!

Mercenary Breed

DriveThruRPG / RPGNow recently announced that their printer, Lightning Source, is removing the availability of standard color, 50# books. Besides Savage Insider #10, Mercenary Breed is the only set of books affected by this. Those print options have been removed and only the premium color, 70# print options remain.

Licensed Campaigns

The first round of editing on Five Points (Dark Streets) is done! I just have to go through the edits and send it off for round #2. Thanks to Cakebread & Walton, I will be working with the original Dark Streets artist for this book’s artwork to maintain the look and feel of the Dark Streets setting.

Ultimate Guides

Ultimate Conspiracies Guide for Savage Worlds has gone through layout. It’s currently in the hands of newcomer artist Ken McIntyre (who also happens to be my cousin). He’s got a flair for the weird and this type of book is perfect for his style!

A.J. Preece just turned in the Ultimate Fey Guide for Savage Worlds submission yesterday. This has now entered the editing queue, but it may be a while before that begins due to other conflicts.

Entropic Gaming System

The revised edition of the Entropic Gaming System: Quick Start Guide has gone through editing. It is now in the layout queue and will be available most likely in May. The PDF and POD will both be updated to the revised edition.

Shadowed Earth

Judgment Day: Quick Start Guide for EGS is done with layout and artwork has been commissioned. The Savage Worlds version is mostly complete and I’m hoping to release them both at the same time.

Ancient World

Development for Ancient World: Quick Start Guide is still on hold, but is first in the development queue. I plan on writing a new adventure for this book along with a collection of pregens.

Mythos

The revised Savage Worlds core books are now available. All three are available in PDF, the full-color core setting guide is available in hardcover POD, and Hero’s Handbook and Epic Gamemastering will be available soon in black-and-white, paperback POD. I ordered the proofing copies two days ago.

Broken Ruler Games

ScreenPlay is in its home stretch. Release is coming very soon and The Warden has a lot of big plans for this project. Follow all his updates and announcements at https://brokenrulergames.net/

Roleplayers Chronicle

New additions to the database have been put on hold while I clean up some recently changed links. I have to scrub the entire database again, but this one won’t take nearly as long.
