Mystical Throne Entertainment Licenses Dark Streets for Five Points New York Setting

SHAKOPEE, MN June 10, 2015 – Mystical Throne Entertainment is proud to announce the licensing of Cakebread & Walton’s Dark Streets, powered by the Renaissance system, to develop a setting guide for 1850s Five Points, New York.

Breaking away from Savage Worlds and the Entropic Gaming System, Mystical Throne Entertainment is taking the gritty, urban Lovecraftian horror of Dark Streets and placing it 100 years ahead into the first slums of the United States – the Five Points area of New York City around the 1850s. This great location has all the flavor of 1750s London, just across the pond where all manner of trouble is brewing, combined with the horror found in the Cthulhu Mythos.

Five Points will be a core setting guide for Dark Streets, powered by the Renaissance system. “I’ve been a fan of Peter Cakebread and Ken Walton since Clockwork & Chivalry was released for RuneQuest II,” said Aaron T. Huss, president of Mystical Throne Entertainment and writer of Five Points. “I’m also a fan of the Gangs of New York movie and the Copper series on BBC America. I’ve always wanted to do a Five Points setting, but never really had the ‘right’ system to do it in without creating my own. When I first got my hands on Dark Streets, I knew it was perfect for a Five Points book!”

“Aaron is adding to the Dark Streets line in fantastic fashion. Dark Streets meets 1850’s New York? It’s going to be awesome!” said Peter Cakebread of Cakebread & Walton.

Five Points is a limited licensed for Dark Streets and will conform to its OGL. All Renaissance mechanics will remain Open Game Content, but all Dark Streets and Five Points content will not. This maintains the integrity of the limited Dark Streets OGL and the limited license between Cakebread & Walton and Mystical Throne Entertainment.
