General Update
2021 development is complete and it’s time to start looking forward to 2022 and beyond. There are a handful of releases planned for next year; take a look below.
Legacy
There are no updates to our legacy products. As a reminder, all of our legacy Savage Worlds product come with free SWADE conversion guides.
Multi-System Supplements
Tabletop Gaming Guide to: Pirates and Privateers rewrites are complete. It will be sent off for editing soon and will be back in December or January. Due to the artwork plan for Judgment Day, it may end up being released first on February 1, 2022. It includes How to Guides for SWADE, EGS 2.0, and Legend to go along with Pirates of Legend. This is a re-release and not a revision of the existing; a new listing will be created but the How to Guides will be uploaded to the existing listing. However, to get the new content, the book will need to be purchased again.
Getting Pirates and Privateers done early has allowed me to get a head start on Tabletop Gaming Guide to the: Fey Realm. This book will be a revision of the existing with How to Guides for SWADE, EGS 2.0, and Legend. The source material, however, is only being re-edited. Expected release date is April 1, 2022.
Shadowed Earth
Judgment Day 3rd edition development is back from editing. Depending on the turn around for artwork, it should be released on February 1 or March 1, 2022. This book will be a full-color 8.5″x11″ PDF with a hardcover option. Once it is released, a Judgment Day: JumpStart is planned for SWADE and a standalone, EGS 2.0 version will follow to include a core rulebook and a Quick Start Guide.
On the heels of Judgment Day is the next big Shadowed Earth RPG – Antiquity. Antiquity will be a Powered by the Apocalypse game that will feature its own hack of the game system that will end up being featured in other Shadowed Earth PbtA games. This version is different than The Fallen because The Fallen is written for supernatural characters; this new version will be written for human characters.
Antiquity takes place during the historical periods of Classical Antiquity and Late Antiquity (the first wave of Playbooks will be set around the 6th century BCE). Research has begun and is expected to consume the first half of 2022. The second half will be dedicated to writing and release is not expected until 2023. Shortly after its release, the Cryptozoology supplements will get new How to Guides to be compatible with Antiquity and other PbtA games that use the new game system hack.
