The bulk of the website has been updated. There are some very minor changes being rolled out throughout the next few months, but nothing that alters the way the website is used. I am simply improving the product listings, including links to other places to purchase for those who don’t want to purchase on the webstore.
Five Points, a campaign setting for Cakebread & Walton’s Dark Streets, and Portsmouth 1745, a campaign for Rogue Games’ Colonial Gothic, are both out in PDF and print. Future settings are possible, but nothing is planned yet. I will note that future licenses will likely be in the style of Five Points or what I’ve dubbed the “playground-style” campaign where it’s a combination of setting and campaign.
There are lots of activities going on for Ultimate Guides. First, Ultimate Age of Discovery Guide: Renaissance France is now available in PDF and POD. Second, Ultimate Characters Guide: Psionics is in editing. This is a change to the title to denote that it follows in-line with the Ultimate Characters Guide book which aims to help players and GMs get more out of their PCs, NPCs, villains, and bestiary. Third, Ultimate Medieval Guide: Feudal Japan has been turned in for editing. Fourth, Ultimate Dark Ages Guide: Vikings, Ultimate Characters Guide: Undead, and Ultimate Characters Guide: Villains are in some type of development stage. Finally, Ultimate Antebellum Guide: Five Points and Ultimate Age of Discovery Guide: New England, Volume I are planned for 2017. Both of them might not get released, but at least one of them should.
All of our Ultimate Guides, along with all old titles, will be part of our continued 5th Anniversary revisions. However, what’s different about the Ultimate Guides is that they will be renamed to match the new title categorizations, cleaned-up to match the current format (background, characters, then GM stuff), expanded to ~60 pages each, available in standard color paperback, published in the new 7×10 size, and tweaked to better match the applicable game system. This is slated to begin in November 2017 (the 5th anniversary of Ultimate Mass Battle Guide, which will be updated to include siege warfare). For all these 5th anniversary editions, the original listing will be updated so that customers don’t have to purchase a new copy (except for print of course). Just download the updated file.
Finally, some of our Savage Worlds Ultimate Guides will be edited and revised for Entropic Gaming System and maybe Legend. Now that Entropic Heroes: Fantasy is out, books like Ultimate Fey Guide act as a companion to that book. Additionally, some of the other historical books fit better with fantasy than they do with other genres.
As a side note, going into 2018, a handful of Ultimate Dark Ages Guides will be developed to coincide with the eventual release of Faith & Demons: The Rising 2nd Edition (a much improved version of the setting).
Entropic Gaming System
Entropic Heroes: Fantasy is available in PDF and paperback POD. The hardcover, full-color version will be available soon.
Beyond the Firelight core rulebook is now available in PDF and paperback POD. The hardcover proofing copy is in transit and should be available soon. Due to the low-cost print nature of Beyond the Firelight, I am releasing the paperback POD worldwide via my current fiction global distributor (e.g. Shadowed Earth Anthology, Volume I). Not only will you be able to find the POD on RPGNow and DriveThruRPG, it will also be available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble online.
Don’t forget to visit the Shadowed Earth Online content and the Encyclopedia Chaotica:
Ancient Worlds is patiently waiting for other products right now, but I had a couple brainstorms today. I’m thinking of releasing a couple sourcebooks that introduce different ways of playing the game. They are tentatively titled Apocalypse and Crusades.
Little Heroes: The Lost Faery is in layout. It’s currently on hold for artwork as my artists are busy this month and I have other things going on. Should be out in January. The core rulebook is in development. It’s moving along slowly, but that’s because things have been busy. However, I’m very happy with how the book is coming together and am quite excited to get this one available (so are my daughters!).
No new developments for Mythos, but Olympus, Inc. is slated to be released very, very soon! This is Mythos line-developer, Gilbert Gallo, and Fabled Environments’ Charles White’s take on what would happen if the Olympians continued on into modern day!
Broken Ruler Games
Broken Ruler Games has been very busy gearing-up for the High Plains Samurai Kickstarter in roughly 3 months time. You can follow all updates and announcements at https://brokenrulergames.net/
New additions to the database have been put on hold while I clean up some recently changed links. I have to scrub the entire database again, but this one won’t take nearly as long.
