General Update

As you can see, the website has been updated. The webstore issues should be taken care of now (at least they were working when I tested them) along with a couple other tweaks and additions here and there. The new website looks quite a bit like the old one, and is more of an enhancement than a complete makeover. If you find anything not working correctly, please use the Contact form to send me a message.

Licensed Settings

Five Points, a campaign setting for Cakebread & Walton’s Dark Streets, and Portsmouth 1745, a campaign for Rogue Games’ Colonial Gothic, are both out in PDF and print. Future settings are possible, but nothing is planned yet. I will note that future licenses will likely be in the style of Five Points or what I’ve dubbed the “playground-style” campaign where it’s a combination of setting and campaign.

Ultimate Guides

Development is moving along nicely on the Ultimate Guides books. Ultimate Age of Discovery Guide: Renaissance France is in editing, Ultimate Psionics Guide is in revision, and Ultimate Dark Ages Guide: Vikings is in development. I’m pretty sure Ultimate Medieval Guide: Feudal Japan is still in development, but it’s probably nearing completion and getting ready to be sent off for editing. When I get done writing the Vikings book, Ultimate Antebellum Guide: Five Points will be next (for me, not our freelancers).

Entropic Gaming System

Entropic Heroes: Fantasy is in layout. It will hopefully wrap up this month, but I’m not 100% sure. It’s currently waiting on one last artwork piece.

Shadowed Earth

Beyond the Firelight: Goody Eleanor is available in PDF abroad and print-on-demand at DriveThruRPG and RPGNow. Both are Pay What You Want, although you have to cover the printing costs for the POD version. The book is a nice, compact size that can be easily transported for quick on-the-spot games while you’re waiting for other games or just as a way to tell a great horror story. The core rulebook has been handed over for editing. It should release in December.

A while ago I announced Faith & Demons: The Rising had been pulled for redevelopment, and I’ve been thinking more about what I want to do. The original setting contained too much fantasy and not enough historical. This actually makes sense because the setting was originally developed as a dark fantasy setting and then morphed into a historical fantasy horror setting, and this was before I fully developed the Shadowed Earth alternate history. For the 2nd edition, I’m stepping back and doing a ton of new research on the cultures of that period, centered on the Byzantine Empire (specifically Constantinople). From this, I’m going to take that research to develop a handful of new Ultimate Dark Ages Guides covering Vikings (already in development), Byzantine Empire, Merovingians (i.e. Germanic people), Slavs, Turks, and possibly Papal States. I will then take the pertinent information from that research and incorporate it into the Faith & Demons: The Rising setting guide. The only fantasy that will be added will be the elements already described in the Shadowed Earth setting guide. This means the release of 2nd edition will be out probably 2 years, if not 3 years.

Ancient World

Ancient Worlds is patiently waiting for other products right now, but I had a couple brainstorms today. I’m thinking of releasing a couple sourcebooks that introduce different ways of playing the game. They are tentatively titled Apocalypse and Crusades.

Little Heroes

Little Heroes: The Lost Faery is in layout. It’s currently on hold for artwork as my artists are busy this month and I have other things going on. Should be out in December. The core rulebook is in development. It’s moving along slowly, but that’s because things have been busy. However, I’m very happy with how the book is coming together and am quite excited to get this one available (so are my daughters!).

Mythos

No new developments for Mythos. Line developer and IP-owner Gilbert Gallo is currently busy working on other projects that are actually Mythos related. Gilbert Gallo is doing an email interview with herculesinvictus.net. Before the interview wraps up and goes live, they also posted a review of Mythos: Quick Start Guide:

Broken Ruler Games

Broken Ruler Games has just released the first “treatment” for ScreenPlay called Dial M for Monster. This is self-contained rulebook utilizes the ScreenPlay mechanics but takes place within the confines of cinematic horror such as what you would find at a 1950s drive-in movie theater. It’s kind of that lighthearted side of horror, just in time for Halloween. The PDF is available now and POD should be available soon. They are also gearing up for the High Plains Samurai Kickstarter coming in March. You can follow all updates and announcements at https://brokenrulergames.net/

Roleplayers Chronicle

New additions to the database have been put on hold while I clean up some recently changed links. I have to scrub the entire database again, but this one won’t take nearly as long.
